Children worldwide remember their first black superhero!
For a generation of kids, Chadwick Boseman represented beyond his groundbreaking appearances as Jackie Robinson and James Brown to a real-life superhero that even, in his most challenging moments, created art to inspire children worldwide to dream.
Boseman’s role as T’Challa in Black Panther showed us integrity, humility, and resilience as Wakanda’s leader!
Someone To Look Up To
We care about representation for children in the toy aisle, and Chadwick Boseman did just that. As children hosted funerals for Black Panther in their homes worldwide, we see the lasting impact of his life.
Representation makes children feel seen, heard, and loved by showing them that they can be superheroes in their own lives too!
Beyond The Screen: A Superhero in Real Life
While filming Black Panther, Boseman visited children with terminal cancer. During an interview, he told a story of how two boys were eager to watch a Black superhero on the screen; they were doing their best to hold on to life.
Boseman recounted sharing the same anticipation and childlike excitement for moments like those when he was their age. As depicted through his fictional appearances as the beloved king T’Challa, Boseman proved himself a hero in real life through his deep compassion.
We pay homage to Chadwick Boseman’s life and legacy! We thank him for opening the door for more black superheroes, making a difference in children’s experiences, and showing them that the sky is the limit. For children worldwide, this is not the end; This is only the beginning!
