In February 2021, Our Founder/ CEO Yelitsa Jean-Charles told Women’s Health Magazine how it all started. She explained the two pivotal moments in her childhood, Brandy’s 1997 portrayal of Cinderella and her cousin’s afro that led to the beginning of Healthy Roots Dolls.
